New class dates will be posted as soon as they are available, check back frequently.  Do miss out!!  When classes convene they are normally held at 9 a.m. in the Ministers' office.  Leading the group will be Bruce Boenau, and Rev. Phyllis Hubbell and Rev. John Manwell, as available.

UU Adult Conversation Forum

Bruce Boenau

The UU Forum, a discussion group, meets each Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the downstairs meeting room.  The group engages in free-ranging discussions of topics related to forming a liberal religious philosophy, and is open to all interested participants.

Women's Spirituality Group

 Susan Swope

We meet from 10 to 12 on the first Saturday of every month. Each month's meeting is led by a member of the group and the topic and activities are chosen by her.

Helping Hands

Melissa Sandoe, Michelle Jewell and Pru Aliminosa Reichart

Help Hands is held monthly in conjunction with Knitters and Stitchers (see below.)  We use this time to spruce up our Church...volunteers need only show up at UUG, 9:00am to 12pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month.  Helping Hands aim is to maintain organization, and to provide effective and efficient building space. Our long-range goal is to have storage space as needed for each committee and group; e.g. the Meeting Room, the Minister's Office.

Knitters and Stitchers

Pru Aliminosa Reichart

Knitters and Stitchers is held in conjunction with Helping Hands (see above.)  Bring a potluck or your own bag lunch, and a project to K&S. The group meets the 3rd Thursday from 12pm to 3pm at UUG for sharing and community. If you knit crochet, sew, or want to, please join us.  Watch the church calendar as from time to time the day may change.

There are church designated parking spaces behind the church.  Because we usually have more cars than these spaces will accommodate, we park behind one another; usually three in a line.  DO NOT park in a space other than a church space.  The lot is a permit-only weekdays and you may be towed if you park in one of those spaces.

Pru Aliminosa Reichart

This is an informal group that meets the 4th Thursday of each month from 10am to 1pm at Pru Reichart's home. Craft for the November Bazaar or work on your own project. Members bring their own lunch or a dish to share. The group enjoys lunch between 12pm and 1pm.

Buddhist Insight Meditation Group

The meditation is open to the public and meets every Sunday evening at 6:30 pm in the church sanctuary. The meditation group follows the Buddhist Theravada tradition of Vipassana or Insight Meditation.  It a form of meditation designed to develop the skill of praying attention to our inner and outer experiences with acceptance, patience and compassion

Caring Community

Bonnie Overholtzer

The UUG Caring Committee exists to promote and enhance a family-like atmosphere within the framework of the UUG community. Has any member of our UUG community become ill, disabled and/or homebound lost a job or a family member? On the flip side, are any of our members celebrating an important milestone? A birthday, anniversary, graduation, marriage, or birth of a family member? Does any one of us have a special short-term or even long-term need which the Caring Circle Committee can be of assistance with?

Some of the services we offer include personal phone calls or home visits for the ill and/or homebound, personal hospital visits, rides to medical appointments or UUG services and events, general moral support and a listening ear during stressful times, birthday cards, anniversary cards, condolence cards, and more.
